Your account number is a unique 10-digit NUBAN (Nigeria Uniform Bank Account Number) that is specific to each customer. Each customer has a different account number.

How to Activate WEMA Bank USSD Code
When you activate your Wema Bank USSD code, carrying out transactions on your phone becomes possible. And it doesn’t even require the use of the internet before it can be accessed. Just with your already set Pin or password.
This password/pin will be needed every time you use the USSD code, especially when you are making money transfers or payment of bills. Without this pin, you won’t be able to make transactions via the USSD on your account
To activate your Wema Bank USSD code, you would need to register and generate a unique Pin. Simply;
- Dial *945*5#
- A set of on-screen instructions would pop up for you to follow
- A series of information -account number, date of birth, new pin and confirmation of new pin- will be asked if you want to activate the account
As soon as the PIN has been created and verified, you will then have access to your account via USSD code and you can now perform banking transactions and inquisitions.
It is important to note that if you do not bank with Wema bank, you will not have access to this service.

Retrieve Wema Bank Account Number with USSD Code
To use Wema’s USSD code, you need to make sure that the number you registered for the account is active on your mobile device. The phone number must be linked and activated to your account before you can use the USSD code.
To retrieve your Wema Bank Account Number via their unique USSD code;
- Dial *945*000# via the phone number that is registered and linked to your account
- Enter your personal PIN to confirm your inquiry
- Your account number will be sent to you as a message
How to check Wema Bank account Number Using the Internet
You can also check your account number using the internet through Emails, Wema Bank’s live chat, and mobile app.

When you call or email Wema, to ask about your account number, they would ask a few questions to verify it’s you, not someone pretending to be you. The information you would be asked for includes;
- Full name
- The phone number that is linked to your Wema bank account
- Next of kin
- Date of Birth
- The bank branch where your account was registered
- Residential address
Once your answers to these questions have proven satisfactory and your account is confirmed by Wema Bank, the bank representative attending to you will proceed to retrieve your account number and give it to you

You can easily access your account number by inputting your user ID/email and your PIN/password.
Once the app is opened your account number will be displayed.
