- Open your FCMB mobile app
- Enter your correct details and log into the app
- From the options at the bottom of your screen select transfer
- Choose other banks from the option available
- Select the FCMB account you want to send money from the account options(this is for users who have more than one FCMB account registered on the mobile app)
- Enter the account number you want to transfer money to or you can also choose from your saved beneficiaries
- Choose the bank name from the shown bank options
- Enter the amount of money you want to transfer
- Enter the transaction description (optional)
- Enter your transaction pin
The funds will be transferred immediately and you’ll receive a message notifying you of the success of the transaction and a debit alert as well.
If you haven’t used the FCMB mobile app before then you should know that you’ll need to set it up and register your bank account on it before you can use it for any transactions.
To set up your FCMB mobile app for transactions as a first-time user:
- Download and install the FCMB mobile app from either the Google Play store (Android users) or the iOS App store (iPhone users)
- Launch the bank mobile app on your mobile device
- Tap on the register as a new user
- Accept the bank’s terms and conditions by clicking on I agree
- Enter your details- account number, phone number, etc. in the required fields. Note that the phone number you use has to be the one registered on your bank account.
- Click on continue once your details are entered correctly
- You’ll receive a verification code which will be sent to your phone number
- Input the verification code sent in the required field
- Create a unique password that will be used to verify all future transactions made on the app
- Tap on Register
Once all the steps above are followed you’ll be able to use the mobile app for different transactions, not limited to money transfers alone.
If you’ve registered your account on the mobile app previously but lost the app on your phone for whatever reason, simply follow these steps to re-register on the mobile app:
- Download and install the FCMB mobile app from either the Google Play store (Android users) or the iOS App store (iPhone users)
- Launch the bank mobile app on your mobile device
- Tap on the register as an existing internet banking user
- Accept the bank’s terms and conditions by clicking on I agree
- Enter the details you used in registering when you previously used the app. These details include your account number, username, and password.
- Tap on Register
Once all these steps are taken you’ll be able to use the mobile bank app again.
How do I transfer money from my FCMB account to another bank using the USSD bank code?
Every bank has its own unique USSD code that allows bank users to make transactions without having to get to the bank and sometimes as an available alternative to using the bank’s mobile app.
A number of people consider using the FCMB USSD code the easiest to use when transferring money from their accounts to accounts of other banks. Part of the reason for this is because there’s usually no mobile internet interference and the process is quite straightforward with little waiting/loading time.
To transfer money from your FCMB account to another bank account using the FCMB USSD code:
Dial: *329*amount you want to transfer*the account number you’re transferring the money to#
An example of this is *329*5000*1234567890#
- Once you dial the code, you’ll get a message asking you to choose the bank under which the account you want to send money to is registered
- Enter your USSD transaction pin to authenticate the transaction.
Once you do all this the funds will be transferred to the bank account you inputted and you’ll receive a debit alert notifying of the successful transaction.
Another tip to make your mobile transactions smoother is to register your own transaction code. The transaction code allows FCMB bank account owners to transfer up to #500,000 naira daily to different other accounts.
To create your transaction code, follow the steps outlined below:
- Dial *329*0#on your mobile device
- Select Create/ reset code from the options that appear
- Select your ATM card(of choice) from the options that appear (if you have more than one ATM card)
- Enter the ATM card pin for the ATM card you chose
- Choose a unique 4-digit pin to authenticate your transactions
- Enter your USSD transaction code and your registration process will be completed.
How Do I Activate My FCMB USSD Code?
It stands to reason that before you’re able to use the FCMB USSD code to make money transfers to other banks you would have to activate the FCMB USSD code.
In activating the FCMB USSD code you can only use the phone number registered to your FCMB bank account. If you’re using the phone number registered to your account then simply follow these steps to activate your USSD code:
- Dial*329*214# on your mobile device
- You’ll receive a message containing the options to either activate the USSD code with your (1) Card (2) Account or (3) Wallet
- Select option 2-Account from the three options and press the enter key
- On the redirected screen you’ll get a message asking for your account number
- Input your account number and press enter
Once you’re done you’ll get a message from FCMB notifying you of your successful USSD code activation.
