Whether you’re doing an intra-bank money transfer(First bank to First bank transaction) or an inter-bank money transfer(First bank to another bank transaction) there are two ways to go about it:

  1. Use the FirstMobile app to carry out the transfer of funds transaction.
  2. Use the First bank USSD code

How to Transfer money from the First bank using the Mobile Banking app

Transfering money on the FirstMobile app is a straightforward and simple process that can be done within minutes.

Follow these steps to transfer money from your First bank account to another First bank account using the FirstMobile:

  • Launch your FirstMobile app
  • Enter your mPIN and log into the app
  • Tap on transfer (under your account balance information)
  • From the options given tap on To First bank account
  • On the redirected page enter the transfer details. These details are the account the funds will be transferred from, the account the funds will be transferred to, the amount to be transferred and the transaction narration.
  • Tap on continue
  • Enter your 4-digit transaction pin
  • Tap on confirm

Once the transaction is authenticated the funds will be transferred immediately to the receiver’s First bank account.

 Transferring money from your First bank account to a bank account with another bank is just as easy as transferring to another First bank account.

To do this, simply follow these steps:

  • Launch your FirstMobile app
  • Enter your mPIN and log into the app
  • Tap on transfer(under your account balance information)
  • From the options given tap on To other bank accounts
  • On the redirected page enter the transfer details. These details are the name of the other bank, the account the funds will be transferred from, the account the funds will be transferred to, the amount to be transferred and the transaction narration.
  • Tap on continue
  • Enter your 4-digit transaction pin
  • Tap on confirm

Once done your funds will be transferred to the entered bank account immediately. You’ll receive a debit alert informing you of the success of the transaction and the transfer of funds from your account to the other.

 It goes without saying that you will have to download the First bank mobile banking app before you can use it.

To download the mobile banking app:

  • Open your app store whether Google play store or the iOS App store
  • Search for the First bank mobile banking app using the search bar
  • Download and install the app

Once you’ve installed the mobile banking app you have to register to be able to use it.

  • Launch the installed banking app
  • Click on register
  • Fill in your information as required. This would be your Mastercard or Veeve card details and your pin.
  • An OTP is sent to your number that is linked to your bank account
  • Enter the OTP correctly
  • Choose a 5-digit password(mPIN) that you will use for your subsequent logins
  • Choose two security questions from the options available and answer on the app
  • Choose a 4-digit pin that you’ll use to confirm transactions on the app before they go through.

Once accepted you’ll be redirected to the bank app directly and can perform various transactions of your choice. You’ll be redirected to the login page directly on your next use of the banking app without the need to go through any of the above steps again.

How to Transfer Money from First Bank Using USSD Code

 Transferring funds from your First bank account to another account whether within the First bank or outside of the First bank using the USSD code is just as easy as using the FirstMobile app if done correctly. The USSD code used for all First bank transactions is *894#.

Follow these steps to transfer money from your account to another bank account

  • Dial *894# on your mobile device
  • Choose 1 for Quick banking
  • Choose1 to Transfer money
  • Enter the amount of money(in figures) you want to transfer
  • Enter the account number you want to send the money to
  • Choose the bank from the options displayed or you can enter the first 3 letters of the bank
  • Enter your 5-digit transaction pin

Once done your funds will be transferred to the entered bank account immediately. You’ll receive a debit alert informing you of the success of the transaction and the transfer of funds from your account to the other.

Another way to transfer funds from your First bank account to another account whether intra-bank or inter-bank using the code:

  • Dial *894*amount to be transferred*account number the funds will be transferred to#. This will look like this- *894*5000*1234567890#
  • Select the bank name of the account the funds will be transferred to
  • Enter your 5-digit transaction pin

Once this is done the transfer transaction will be effected and the funds transferred immediately. You’ll receive a debit alert informing you of the success of the transaction and the transfer of funds from your account to the other.

Before you can use the First bank USSD code you need to set it up. To set up the First bank USSD code for possible transactions:

  • Dial *894*0#
  • Choose option 2-register for 894 quick banking
  • Enter the 4-digit pin attached to your debit Mastercard or Verve card
  • Create a 5-digit transaction pinto authenticate your transactions using the USSD code

Your registration is complete once all of these steps are taken.

Note: You can only register for quick banking and use the First bank USSD code to transfer funds and for other transactions only by using the mobile number that is registered to your First bank account.
