Kuda Bank is a Lagos and London-based online bank that is licensed by the central bank of Nigeria (CBN). It is the first of its kind in Nigeria, as all its operations are digital. Kuda bank is a revolutionary online bank, with several digitized means of performing transactions.

To aid its online and offline activities, Kuda bank partners with other leading financial institutions in Nigeria such as GTBank, Zenith Bank, and Polaris Bank, etc. Apart from the use of the mobile App, you can send money from other banks to your Kuda bank account using USSD codes.

Only a few banks including GTBank, Zenith Bank, Polaris Bank, etc can transfer money to a kuda bank account via USSD. Below are the steps to follow in order to ensure a successful transaction:

1. Open Kuda bank App.
2. On your dashboard, select ‘Add Money’.
3. Select ‘Add by USSD’.
4. Input the amount you would like to send.
5. Select the right USSD to dial it.
6. Then, follow the instructions on your screen.

Apart from the use of USSD codes to add money to your Kuda Bank account, you can also transfer via a debit or credit card or make cash deposits.

How to add money to your Kuda Bank account via cash deposit

1. Open your Kuda Bank App.
2. On your dashboard, select ‘Add Money’.
3. Select ‘Cash Deposit’.
4. Then, select your preferred partner bank.
5. Follow the prompts on your screen on how to make deposits in any branch of your preferred selected partner bank.

How to add money to your Kuda Bank account via a debit or credit card

There is usually a charge attached to the use of debit or credit cards to add money to your Kuda Bank account. The fee is usually charged via a payment gateway (Interswitch, Paystack, or flutterwave).

To perform this transaction, it is mandatory that you upgrade your account by adding your bank verification number (BVN) and a government-issued ID. To add this information, tap on ‘More’ at the bottom of your dashboard, and select ‘ Identification’.

There is a limit of #100,000 for free top-up using this means of transfer. For local cards, a payment gateway fee of #100 + 1.5% of the exceeded amount will be charged. For international cards, a fee of #100 + 4% of the exceeded amount is charged for every transaction that occurs through the payment gateway.
